Reports from the field team in the city of Jableh revealed that **Al-Shaheed Aqeel Jumaa School** was suffering from poor service and sanitary conditions. The schoolyard and restrooms were found to be in extremely bad condition in terms of cleanliness, and the sanitary fixtures were either broken or missing (such as faucets and hoses).
It was also noted that there was only one restroom inside the school, shared by the teaching staff, students, and kindergarten children, while the drinking water was unfit for use, with continuous wastage caused by water leaks due to the absence of functional faucets.
In addition, the condition of the external doors was dilapidated and required immediate maintenance to ensure public safety.
Project Objectives
- Cleaning the schoolyard and establishing a mechanism to maintain sustainable cleanliness.
- Maintaining and rehabilitating the external restrooms to make them suitable for student use.
- Maintaining the water systems, stopping leaks, and ensuring the availability of clean water.
- Repairing the internal restrooms to serve the teaching staff, students, and kindergarten children.
- Improving the school infrastructure to enhance student attendance rates.
